From September 19 to 22, 2024, the ASI Conference – Revolutionizing Weather and Climate Prediction through Artificial Intelligence will be held at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Organized by HKUST and the Croucher Foundation, and co-organized by Stellerus Technology Limited, the conference aims to explore the latest advances and applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in weather forecasting and climate prediction.

Professor Hui Su, Chair of the Conference Organizing Committee,  Global STEM Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at HKUST and Founder & Chair of Stellerus Technology Limited, is leading the organization of this high-profile international event. Prof. Su is widely recognized for her groundbreaking research in atmospheric science and for being a pioneering figure in applying AI to climate technologies.
“This conference will provide a unique platform for global experts in meteorology and climate science to exchange knowledge, foster collaborations, and jointly address the pressing challenges of climate change through technological innovation,” said Prof. Su.
The Advanced Study Institute (ASI), funded by the Croucher Foundation, brings together world-renowned atmospheric scientists and AI experts to explore cutting-edge applications of AI in weather and climate prediction. By integrating physics-based numerical models with data-driven AI models, the initiative seeks to revolutionize how atmospheric phenomena are forecasted.
