Feature Interview | Hong Kong Zhongtong News Interviews Professor Su Hui
Recently, Professor Hui Su, a "Global STEM Professor" in the of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), and founder and chairman of Stellerus Technology Co., Ltd., was interviewed by reporter Chen Zhuoyi from Hong Kong China News Agency. In the interview, Professor Su shared in detail her experiences returning to Hong Kong and her research work.
Professor Su worked at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the United States for 17 years. She was later attracted by Hong Kong’s ambition and rapid development in the field of innovation and technology, which led her to join HKUST.
Currently, Professor Su is involved in a national-level aerospace project, responsible for developing the world’s first high-precision carbon dioxide and methane point-source synergistic detection instrument. This instrument is planned to be delivered to the space station aboard Tianzhou-10 in 2026. In addition, she is dedicated to improving the accuracy of extreme weather forecasting and promoting the construction of multimodal satellites to provide more comprehensive observational data.
Professor Su also emphasized the spirit of innovation through courageous exploration and encouraged women to enter high-tech fields to contribute to scientific and social progress.
